Oh, sing to the Lord a new song!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
² Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
³ Declare His glory among the nations,
His wonders among all peoples.

⁴ For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised;
He is to be feared above all gods.
⁵ For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
⁶ Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

⁷ Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
Give to the Lord glory and strength.

The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God

A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.

 I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
² My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
³ Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

⁴ I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
⁵ They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
⁶ This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
⁷ The angel^[a] of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.

⁸ Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
⁹ Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
¹⁰ The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

¹¹ Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
¹² Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?

And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.

Genesis 44:1-17 – New King James Version

Joseph’s Cup

And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, “Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put each man’s money in the mouth of his sack. ² Also put my cup, the silver cup, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest, and his grain money.” So he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken. ³ As soon as the morning dawned, the men were sent away, they and their donkeys. ⁴ When they had gone out of the city, and were not yet far off, Joseph said to his steward, “Get up, follow the men; and when you overtake them, say to them, ‘Why have you repaid evil for good? ⁵ Is not this the one from which my lord drinks, and with which he indeed practices divination? You have done evil in so doing.’”

⁶ So he overtook them, and he spoke to them these same words. ⁷ And they said to him, “Why does my lord say these words? Far be it from us that your servants should do such a thing. ⁸ Look, we brought back to you from the land of Canaan the money which we found in the mouth of our sacks. How then could we steal silver or gold from your lord’s house? ⁹ With whomever of your servants it is found, let him die, and we also will be my lord’s slaves.”

¹⁰ And he said, “Now also let it be according to your words; he with whom it is found shall be my slave, and you shall be blameless.” ¹¹ Then each man speedily let down his sack to the ground, and each opened his sack. ¹² So he searched. He began with the oldest and left off with the youngest; and the cup was found in Benjamin’s sack. ¹³ Then they tore their clothes, and each man loaded his donkey and returned to the city.

³ Как только рассвело, братьев отправили в путь вместе с их ослами. ⁴ Они были еще недалеко от города, когда Иосиф сказал управляющему:

– Немедленно отправляйся в погоню за этими людьми и, когда догонишь, скажи им: «Почему вы заплатили злом за добро? ⁵ Ведь это чаша моего господина, из которой он пьет и на которой он гадает! Вы совершили недобрый поступок!»

⁶ Догнав их, он повторил им эти слова. ⁷ Они ответили:

– Почему господин говорит такие слова? Разве станут твои рабы делать подобное! ⁸ Ведь мы даже принесли тебе обратно из земли Ханаана то серебро, которое нашли у себя в мешках. 8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,^[a] who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. ² For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. ³ For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, ⁴ that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. ⁵ For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. ⁶ For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. ⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. ⁸ So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

⁹ But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. ¹⁰ And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Он послал Своего Сына в теле, подобном греховному человеческому телу, и осудил грех, сделав Его тело жертвой за наши грехи. ⁴ Он сделал это для того, чтобы справедливые требования Закона были исполнены в нас, живущих не по греховной природе^[b], а по Духу.

⁵ Живущие по греховной природе думают о том, чего хочет эта природа, а живущие по Духу – о том, чего желает Дух. ⁶ Мысли, исходящие от греховной природы, ведут к смерти, а мысли, исходящие от Духа, – к жизни и миру. ⁷ Греховный образ мыслей враждебен Богу. Он не подчиняется Божьему Закону, да и не может подчиняться. ⁸ Поэтому живущие под властью греховной природы не могут угодить Богу.
⁹ Но если Дух Божий живет в вас, то вы уже находитесь не под властью греховной природы, а под властью Духа. А в ком нет Духа Христа, тот и не принадлежит Ему. ¹⁰ Если же в вас живет Христос, то ваше тело мертво для греха, а Дух – ваша жизнь^[c] для праведности^[d].
