Morning

Psalm 20 – New American Standard Bible

Prayer for Victory over Enemies.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

20 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
² May He send you help from the sanctuary
And support you from Zion!

³ May He remember all your meal offerings
And find your burnt offering ^[a]acceptable! ^[b]Selah.

⁴ May He grant you your heart’s desire
And fulfill all your ^[c]counsel!
^5 [d]We will sing for joy over your ^[e]victory,

And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.

⁶ Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the ^[f]saving strength of His right hand.
⁷ Some ^[g]boast in chariots and some in horses,

But we ^[h]will boast in the name of the Lord, our God.
⁸ They have bowed down and fallen,
But we have risen and stood upright.

^9 [i]Save, O Lord;
May the King answer us in the day we call.

⁵ (19-6) Мы возрадуемся о спасении твоем и во имя Бога нашего поднимем знамя. Да исполнит Господь все прошения твои.

⁶ (19-7) Ныне познал я, что Господь спасает помазанника Своего, отвечает ему со святых небес Своих могуществом спасающей десницы Своей.

⁷ (19-8) Иные колесницами, иные конями, а мы именем Господа Бога нашего хвалимся:

⁸ (19-9) они поколебались и пали, а мы встали и стоим прямо.

⁹ (19-10) Господи! спаси царя и услышь нас, когда будем взывать [к Тебе].

O Lord, in Your strength the king will be glad,
And in Your ^[a]salvation how greatly he will rejoice!
² You have given him his heart’s desire,
And You have not withheld the request of his lips. ^[b]Selah.
³ For You meet him with the blessings of good things;
You set a crown of fine gold on his head.
⁴ He asked life of You,
You gave it to him,
Length of days forever and ever.

⁵ His glory is great through Your ^[c]salvation,
Splendor and majesty You place upon him.
⁶ For You make him ^[d]most blessed forever;
You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence.

⁷ For the king trusts in the Lord,
And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.

⁸ Your hand will find out all your enemies;
Your right hand will find out those who hate you.
⁹ You will make them as a fiery oven in the time ^[e]of your anger;
The Lord will swallow them up in His wrath,
And fire will devour them.

¹⁰ Their ^[f]offspring You will destroy from the earth,
And their ^[g]descendants from among the sons of men.
¹¹ Though they ^[h]intended evil against You
And devised a plot,
They will not succeed.

¹² For You will make them turn their back;
You will ^[i]aim with Your bowstrings at their faces.

⁹ (20-10) Во время гнева Твоего Ты сделаешь их, как печь огненную; во гневе Своем Господь погубит их, и пожрет их огонь.

The Lord Gives Dominion to the King.

A Psalm of David.

The Lord says to my Lord:
“Sit at My right hand
Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
² The Lord will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying,
“Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”

³ Your people ^[a]will volunteer freely in the day of Your ^[b]power;
In ^[c]holy array, from the womb of the dawn,
^[d]Your youth are to You as the dew.

⁴ The Lord has sworn and will not ^[e]change His mind,
“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”

⁵ The Lord is at Your right hand;
He ^[f]will shatter kings in the day of His wrath.
⁶ He will judge among the nations,
He ^[g]will fill them with corpses,

He ^[h]will shatter the ^[i]chief men over a broad country.
⁷ He will drink from the brook by the wayside;
Therefore He will lift up His head.

My voice and my supplications.
² Because He has inclined His ear to me,

⁴ Then I called upon the name of the Lord:

²⁰ Will not the day of the Lord be darkness instead of light,
Even gloom with no brightness in it?

²² “Even though you offer up to Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings,
I will not accept them;
And I will not even look at the peace offerings of your fatlings.

 Keep Yourselves in the Love of God

¹⁷ But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁸ that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” ¹⁹ These are the ones who cause divisions, ^[a]worldly-minded, ^[b]devoid of the Spirit. ²⁰ But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, ²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. ²² And have mercy on some, who are doubting; ²³ save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.

²⁴ Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, ²⁵ to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and ^[c]forever. Amen.

Is it ^[d]lawful to give a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?” ¹⁸ But Jesus perceived their ^[e]malice, and said, “Why are you testing Me, you hypocrites? ¹⁹ Show Me the coin used for the poll-tax.” And they brought Him a ^[f]denarius. ²⁰ And He *said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” ²¹ They *said to Him, “Caesar’s.” Then He *said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.” ²² And hearing this, they were amazed, and leaving Him, they went away.

– Учитель, – спросили они, – мы знаем, что Ты Человек честный и истинно учишь пути Божьему. Ты беспристрастен и не стремишься никому угодить. ¹⁷ Скажи нам, как Ты считаешь, следует ли платить налог кесарю или нет?

¹⁸ Иисус, зная их коварные намерения, сказал:

– Лицемеры, вы хотите поймать Меня на слове? ¹⁹ Покажите Мне монету, которой платится дань.

Они принесли Ему динарий. ²⁰ Иисус спросил их:

– Кто на ней изображен, и чье на ней имя?

²¹ – Кесаря, – ответили они.

Тогда Иисус сказал им:
